 Footballer sets the ‘record straight’

Footballer sets the ‘record straight’

11 Sep, 2009 10:34 AM
I AM writing to set the record straight in regards to Footy Watchman’s letter (“Football fan claims bias from umpire”, TDT 21/8/09).

Abandoning of the game is untrue. Undermining my decisions?

I think I have been involved with footy long enough to know that I have not been provoked or undermined by Eddie Taylor.

As for making my decisions regarding any footy matches, it is clearly and solely my decision.

I have been asked by BAFL to assist with umpiring.

Some of our decisions are not right but most of the time they are spot on.

I think the comments put forward should be more about standing your ground.

Umpiring, we all know, is very challenging.

I think all footy followers should congratulate the BAFL Committee for the great job they do.

I say if there is anyone who can do a better job put your hands up.

I’m disgusted by comments and my name being used to judge Eddie Taylor.

It is not for me to make any judgement on any BAFL umpires.
