THE AFL Barkly game between Spitfires and Eagles last Saturday was real eye opener!
Commonly because of the most pathetic umpiring seen for a long time.
I’m not the only one who is convinced that umpire Eddie Taylor makes biased judgements over and over again.
I think he should be ashamed of himself and should quit immediately.
As far as I’m concerned he has no idea how to umpire a game fairly and his actions put a big strain on all teams except the one he supports - the Sporties Spitfires.
Last weekend just prior to half time during the game between Spitfires and Eagles, the other umpire, Kevin Neade, abandoned the game in disgust solely because he had enough of Eddie Taylor undermining his decisions.
It was obvious to everyone gathered at the oval that he was sick of the partiality to the Spitfires shown by Eddie Taylor.
Kevin Neade is well respected by players and spectators and knows the game very well so to him I say stand tall, you do a great job out there.
And to the Eagles, you had 23 people to beat - the 22 Sporties players plus the umpire - and you did it with style.
Also can AFL Barkly explain why the premiership ladder is still not up to date after nine rounds of football?
The only listing is of round six.
Could it be the Sporties Spitfires FC want to cover up their position on the ladder which is currently sixth place on 14 points?
After all, the AFL Barkly management and the Spitfires Football Club is pretty much one and the same.
It is clear to everyone that the Sporties will not make it to the finals given their current ladder position and surely they won’t take that lightly after making the finals every year in the 18 years of league history.
I wonder if some unfortunate team will lose their premiership points to make way for the Sporties Football Club to enter the finals.
We’ll know in the next week or two.
