IF you weren’t at Tennant Creek Speedway on the weekend then you missed out on some pretty funny moments.
The Junior Go-Karts were out racing first and there were machines being thrown sideways around the corners.
Trent Wilson tried with all his might to out-manoeuvre Jack Yates throughout the heats.
But it was Jack that flew past the checkered flag first to win the final.
The Junior Quad riders, Ben Gannon, Michael Jones, Jarrod Clark and Mitchell Russell came out to put on a fabulous performance.
Ben Gannon started with the moves and then Michael Jones, Jarrod Clark and Mitchell Russell tried it out.
Bouncing up and down as they went round and round.
Ben won the final followed by Michael Jones, Jarrod Clarke and Mitchell Russell.
The Senior Kart racers were spinning out of control on the track.
By the end it was anyone’s guess who had come in which position.
All that I know is that Perry Sutton, Tim Welch and Liam Wilson will be ready for the octopus ride at the show!
Last through the gates were the Bombers and Street Stocks.
In the Bomber challenge, Phil Noble took on Alan Spence and it was a competition of the straight shooters.
Alan was handling his machine extremely well earlier on in the race but with some oversights he managed to lose control and Phil got the better of him to win the event.
Jamie Yates returned to racing to show he could dodge with the best of them in the street stocks.
As the boys formed up it was all engines firing.
Colin Fry tried to do a bit of bumping and grinding with Jamie but there was no slowing him down as he flew past the finish line to win the event.
Speedway will come to a halt until the after the local show on Saturday 18 July.
Keep this date in mind as we are holding the NT Junior Sedan Titles so the action should be pretty hot and furious.
Last but not least, a big round of applause to all volunteers and sponsors as without you Tennant Creek Speedway could not run.
Anyone interested in helping out please contact Colin Fry, Clarissa Burgen or Peter Gannon.
