A-Team came into the game as the leaders of the comp, with the Redbacks earning their spot in the finals at the semis win against Taipans the week before.

The finals pace was fast and the talent was matched, with a tight score sheet through the first three quarters (Redbacks - A-Team 4-4, 10-8, 18-12).

The Redbacks tore away in the final quarter to gain an impressive 15 goal lead, with a final score of 30-15 when the umpire whistle called time.

Melinda Otton’s performance for Sporties earned her the Best in Final trophy, while Francis Storey and Steven Lanton took out the Best and Fairest women and men’s awards for their performance during the season.

Nomination forms for the 2009 Women’s season are available at Sport & Rec, BP or Mobil, and must be submitted by Wednesday 15 April for the start of the season on Monday 20 April.

The Tennant Creek Netball Association AGM will be held at the netball courts at 5:30pm on the 20 April prior to the first game.
