THE Little Tykes made sure the crowd was on their seats watching in amazement at the local speedway on the weekend.
Ben Gannon, Jarrod Clarke, Luke Gannon and Grace Faulkner gave it their all to show who was the best for the season.
Grace gave her mum and dad a fright when she lost control and had a spectacular crash.
The spirit of this young girl shined when, after rolling it a couple of times, she got back up and continued on her way.
Goes to show no matter what age or gender, if you love what you do, it brings out the best in you.
Luke showed he was eager by jumping the start by at least 20 metres in one of the heats.
Ben took out the final followed by Jarrod, Grace and then Luke.
Great racing little tykes!
Now I apologise to the next class as I had a momentary forgetfulness on my part and forgot them in last week’s article.
Sorry Junior Go-karters, but for those not in the know, Jack came first followed by Trent.
So on with this week’s story.
Three juniors lined up in the Go-karts.
Poor Jayden Giezendanner had mechanical problems and was unable to finish the race.
Mickayla Giezendanner went on to win for the family though followed by Trent Wilson.
Senior Go-karts were down on numbers but Liam Wilson and Tim Walsh battled it out throughout the night.
Liam ended up holding out Tim in the final.
Phil Noble has shown that he is the bomber man to beat this year.
With another outstanding win his points must be climbing higher and higher.
The Street Stock finals were once again a nail-biting event.
Colin Fry and Scott Clarke once again had a bingle and need to stay clear of each other in future races if they want to survive the night out.
Colin ended up doing a 360 and put the car into the wall.
With a lot of mechanical failures and Colin’s crash it left Shane Cramp taking first place.
This rounded up the events for last weekend but keep your dates open for the Saturday 24 October.
Tennant Creek Speedway is proud to host the Don Sheppard Bike Night.
There will be local as well as visiting Solo Bikes and Outfits.
So for all you die-hard bike fans, get out to speedway and make a night of it.
These classes will also be supported by the normal classes, along with visiting racers.
Thanks again to the volunteers on the night, sponsors and all competitors.
Without you there would be no racing for us fans to watch.
