UNITED Lions once again proved they were the better side all year by beating the Central Bulldogs in the Auskick Junior 2009 Grand Final.
From the first bounce the Lions had the ball on a string thanks to hard work from standout players Damien Bahr-Kelly and Mitchell Hayes.
Overall the match was a team effort well deserved.
Stand-in coach, Darryl Ryder, said it was amazing how well the girls and boys played and they certainly saved their best for last.
“But all credit must go to Coach Martin Power,” said Ryder.
“He has done a terrific job all year for the Lions but it was just unfortunate he was unavailable on the day of grand final.”
The Lions team comprised Sheriece Ryder, Baden Dawson, Kelvin Simpson, Joseph Shannon (c), Dwight Hayes, Damien Bahr-Kelly, Kain Fosse, Ayden Renfrey-Carroll, Lora Adams, Mitchell Hayes, Darryl Ryder (coach) Jovan Grant (team manager).
