THE Julalikari Footy TIpping Competition has wrapped up again with the 2009 winner walking away with a cool $4,000 cash.
Former Tennantite Brett Gilmore, who is now living in Darwin, led the top of the ladder with 128 points.
Just a point behind was Gareth Stewart from Carnarvon, WA, who won $2000 for second place.
Sharing third place with 126 points were Jack Crosby from Darwin and Saint Teecee, an avid St Kilda fan from Ti Tree, each winning $225.
Tennant Creek’s Ross Williams has been running the competition for 11 years out of the pure love of AFL.
This year’s competition, which costs just $50 for the season, attracted a whopping 129 tipsters from throughout Australia, and this year went international.
Williams said two people from New Zealand and one from East Timor were in this year’s comp.
Eight local business contributed to the footy fun by way of $50 vouchers to be handed as mystery prizes thoughout the 22-week competition.
