Barlow wins stableford event

13 Nov, 2009 08:52 AM
WHILE most of the town was still sleeping, eight keen golfers were at course at sunrise to play a stableford event off the back nine.

There was a slight breeze, the flies were friendly and it started get warm as the game progressed.

It was not Doug Townsley’s day as his golf was not to much write about.

He was not feeling well and to top off his golf buggy tyre after it started deflating on the 17th.

He was muttering that he should have stayed in bed.

NTP on the 17th went Motza.

Winner was Bob Barlow with 20 points.

Bob has slowly been getting his game together and finally cracked a winner.

There was a three-way countback for second and third places.

Bob Mc came second place winner over Motza and Steve Mulluer.

Motza came third place. They all scored 18 points.

Next week’s game will be on the front nine.

It’s what Bill Daw and Bob Mc call the “think game” because you need to think about the strategy.

The event is Par Three holes.

Any one wishing to play Sunrise Golf please come out.

You can tee off any time from sunrise onwards but you must be back in the club house around 10.30am.

A reminder to all members that the AGM is coming up and a committee needs to form for 2010.

If you would like to be on the committee, get your nomination in.

So until next week have a think about this: It’s not how you play the game it how you score the game on your card.
