United Nations Day celebrated

30 Oct, 2009 09:25 AM
THE Civic Hall was transformed in a myriad of colours and cultures last Saturday as locals celebrated United Nations Day.

Organised by the Tennant Creek Multicultural Association, an international feast with foods from India, the Philippines, Pacific Islands, Indonesia, Thailand and beyond were laid on by Tennant’s culinary experts who have come here from all corners of the globe.

There was plenty of entertainment too with local talent stealing the limelight.

The feature of the night was the Parade of Nations where guests arrived in costumes from a variety of countries.

Japan, India, Kiribati, the Philippines, Indonesia and Scotland were all represented.
