ONE of the Territory’s most accomplished guitarists will be sharing his talent with local enthusiasts.
Bernie Flynn will be hosting guitar workshops at the Goldfields Hotel on Saturday 30 May.
The workshops will cover a range of subjects on acoustic and electric guitar and will suit everyone whether they are beginner or advanced players.
Katherine-based Flynn performed his first professional gig at 13 and has toured Australia playing, teaching and recording music.
Taught by two of Australia’s greatest players, Harvey Mann and Phil Emmanuel, Flynn’s unmistakable style sees him still practicing his art four hours each day.
He is putting the finishing touches on two CDs of original music which are due for release in July.
You can also catch Bernie’s band, Bernie Flynn and the Token Blonde, a partner act with his wife Barbara, who is also a songwriter and has contributed tracks for one of his soon-to-be-released albums.
The cost for the workshops is $50 per person, per session.
Bookings for the two-hour workshops can be made by calling Bernie on 0428 722 891.
You can also catch Bernie and Barbara at the Memo next Friday 29 May.
