A TENNANT Creek teenager has been charged after he smashed the window of a Port Augusta service station with an axe.
The 17 year old allegedly walked into a service station and demanded goods from the attendant in the early hours of Sunday morning.
When he was refused, he stole several items and threw the axe as he left.
The console operator suffered cuts when he was sprayed with shattered fragments of glass but did not require hospital treatment.
The youth was arrested by Port Augusta police a short time later.
He was remanded in custody to appear before the Adelaide Youth Court this week.
