A WOMAN has had thousands of dollars worth of jewellery returned to her after police executed search warrants on premises in Tennant Creek, Katherine and Alice Springs.
The Casey Street home was broken into several times two weeks ago.
Money, jewellery and the woman’s car were taken with the car later found crashed into a pole in Hollis Street.
An antique diamond ring worth around $10,000 was recovered in Katherine while other property was found in Tennant Creek.
The woman praised police for their commitment to finding most of the jewellery.
“I was so happy,” she said.
“The jewellery has significant sentimental and heirloom value and I know that the police officers worked very hard to get it back, so a big thanks to everyone involved.”
A 17-year-old male has been charged with unlawful entry, stealing, receiving stolen property and trespassing.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court on Monday.
However investigations continue and police expect to lay further charges over the matter.
