The 27-year-old man was assaulted in Bornite Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He sustained head injuries.

Police were called at about 4am and arrested a 22 year old male.

The street was cordoned off to protect the integrity of the scene.

Meanwhile, a man is custody in relation to a recent sexual assault at Purkiss Reserve.

Police have been unable to interview the victim, who remains in Alice Springs Hospital, but other arrests are expected to be made.
