Local artists gets cheeky in Melbourne

03 Feb, 2012 10:19 AM
THE winner of Tennant Creek’s Junior Citizen of the Year award is set to showcase his range of artworks at Australia’s largest trade show.

Dion Beasley’s Cheeky Dog products will feature at the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) in Melbourne later this month. Minister for Arts and Member for Barkly Gerry McCarthy said the expo offered a fantastic opportunity for Dion.

“The exposure he will get at AIME will be invaluable,” he said.

“Dion is really doing the Barkly proud with his artwork bursting out of the regional arts scene into the United Arab Emirates in recent years.

“And his awards line up is really impressive.”

Dion will join several other Territory companies at AIME which have been funded by the NT Government.
