Harmony hits awards high note

TENNANT’S Harmony James has reached another high note as a finalist in the prestigious Musicoz Awards.

Her chart-topping song, Tailwind is amongst the top five nominations in the Country section.

The singer-songwriter is the only Territory artist to be selected from thousands of entries in the premier music event which will feature live performances from the best emerging talent in the country along with high profile guest artists.

As a finalist, James is up against some stiff competition in her category including Felicity Urquhart, Jonah’s Road, Katrina Burgoyne, and Luke O’Shea and the Medicine Wheel.

It’s been a great debut year in the industry for James.

She released a four-track EP of originals - amongst which is Tailwind which won James the International Songwriting Competition earlier this year.

The ballad, which is a personal experience about a time when James needed to escape a situation, made it to number seven on the National Country Music Charts.

And her Tailwind video clip, which was filmed on location in Tennant Creek, was given a thorough airing on the Country Music Channel.

The Musicoz Awards will be held in Sydney on 22 November.
