UNDERSTANDING money business will be a whole lot easier now three dedicated budgeteers are on the job.
Francis Storey, Darren Pott and Jason Parker from Money Business have recently completed Certificate 3 in Financial Services.
The Catholic Care employees spent two weeks in Katherine studying with Sydney-based BCA National Training.
This week a special ceremony was held to celebrate their achievements.
Alison Elford from Matrix On Board, which is funded to train Money Business workers, travelled from Alice Springs for the occasion and was joined by Tennant Creek Catholic Care managers, Christine Sheldrick and Tong Galiki in presenting certificates to the students.
Mr Parker said Money Business offers a free service to help people make wise decisions about money.
“We can help people learn how to budget, manage debt and use banking services,” he said.
“We work with people who come into our office of their own accord, those who are referred by organisations as well as with people at places like Ali Curung, Elliott, Canteen Creek and Epenarra.”
Mr Parker said while the service is designed for Indigenous people everyone was welcome to ask for help.
