Epenarra artists return from Sydney exhibition

3/07/2009 12:20:00 PM
A GROUP of Epenarra artists have returned from Sydney after holding their debut exhibition at the Birrung Gallery.

The exhibition, titled Mwerrangker Art from the Silver Bullets, was a success and the women told stories about their paintings which depict the land they were from.

While in the big smoke, the women visited the New South Wales art gallery and museum where they saw what other artists around Australia are painting as well as taking in some of the popular tourist attractions such as the Centrepoint tower and aquarium.

The artists are on a journey to develop a strong art group in the hope that they may be able to develop their own art centre.

World Vision Australia will continue to work with the group as they take ownership for the project and the activities which form part of it.

The group will be exhibiting as part of the Barkly Showcase at Tandana in South Australia in early August.
