Clinics for swine flu vaccination start

02 Oct, 2009 10:32 AM
SWINE flu vaccines are now being rolled out in Tennant Creek and the Barkly.

The Department of Health and Families has urged people who face severe risk from swine flu, such as young children, pregnant women and people with chronic illness, to take advantage of the free vaccination.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service General Practice will be running vaccination clinics on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1pm to 4.30pm.

While the hysteria of the national pandemic appears to have died down, it is believed the timing of further outbreaks and spread of the swine flu, medically known as H1N1 influenza, is unknown.

The vaccine will be also available at remote health clinics.

To make an appointment for the vaccination clinics, contact the RFDS on 8962 2622.
