JAPAN’S Tokai Challenger has won this year’s Global Green Challenge which passed through Tennant Creek enroute from Darwin to Adelaide this week.

The event, which has evolved from the World Solar Car Challenge, tested and showcased solar, electric, hybrid, low emission and alternative energy cars with entrants coming from all over the world.

Eco Challenge entrants, who competed over set stages, spent the night at the Eldorado in Tennant Creek were met by members of the Rotary Club including Chairman, Jeff Sowiak.
