Artists prepare for Sydney exhibition

03 Apr, 2009 10:41 AM
A PAINTING workshop was held for Epenarra artists recently to help prepare them for an upcoming exhibition to be held in Sydney in June.

World Vision Project Officer, Liz Mullen, said the workshop focused on painting techniques including mixing colours, application, composition and elements of design.

The June exhibition will be held at World Vision’s Birrung Gallery and four of the artists will be traveling to attend its opening.

Ms Mullen said the workshop, held in the old Silver Bullets in Wutunurrgurra, was the first of several which will be held this year and artists planned on showcasing their best in the Sydney exhibition.

She said the aim was to develop skills which would help them form a strong art group.

The workshop was sponsored by the Northern Territory Government and World Vision Australia.
