ANYINGINYI Health Aboriginal Corporation has begun the year as a fully accredited general practice.
The accreditation from the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) is the culmination of continuous quality improvement and staff are, deservedly, proud of the achievement.
They have worked for the past 12 months to ensure the health centre was up to the nationally recognised standards of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
In order to gain accreditation, Anyinginyi had to demonstrate the availability of emergency care, that the clinic was clean, equipment sterile and all medicines and vaccines used were within use-by dates.
Anyinginyi General Manager, Trevor Sanders, said the safety and wellbeing of clients would always be Anyinginyi’s first priority.
“Accreditation means our clients know we are committed to providing quality care and always looking to improve our standards,” he said.
“AGPAL accreditation does not just include ensuring that our clinicians are up to standard, but that all staff employed in the health centre are following the AGPAL guidelines.
“This acknowledgement has given staff a real sense of pride and achievement.”
